After Trump’s “Shithole” Comment, Amazon CEO Just Helped DREAMers in a Big Way

Article written by: Molly Hensley-Clancy

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos announced Friday that he would give $33 million in scholarship money to undocumented students who are in the US under Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, the policy at the center of a roiling immigration battle between the Trump administration and Democrats.

Bezos has been at the center of a long-simmering feud with Trump, who regularly tweets about the tech mogul and Amazon, as well as the Washington Post, which Bezos owns.

The donation comes just a day after President Donald Trump rejected a bipartisan immigration deal — one that would have preserved DACA, allowing hundreds of thousands of “DREAMers” brought illegally to the United States as children to remain in the country safely. At the meeting to discuss the policy Thursday, Trump’s vulgar remarks about the “shithole” countries from which immigrants come to the United States drew charges of racism from Democrats

Yes, It’s True! This Banda Mexicana Will Be Part Of Coachella 2018 Lineup

It was a surprise to discover that a Mexican banda originally from Mexico City, is part of the Lineup of the international music festival Coachella 2018, one of the most recognized and where many celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Rihanna meet to listen to their favorite groups.

Coachella, through its official website, revealed the “line up” of its next edition, which highlights the group from Iztapalapa, known for themes such as “17 years”, and which is one of the main shows.

Surprised, but very excited, is how Los Ángeles Azules are to play at the Coachella Festival in its 2018 edition, which was revealed a few days ago that will assist to turn the stage of Indio, California, into a dance floor.

The group is sure that it will manage to spread joy among the attendees without having to share the same language, because their music is a universal language, with a vibration that leads those who listen to them to move with the cumbia.

“We are very nervous about the news, any group would like to be there, but a lot of people are putting us in their preference, those who are dedicated to inviting saw the rhythm in us, they did not invite us for anything. People leave happy, “said José Mejía, percussionist of the group and one of the six brothers Mejía Avante, who only learned of their inclusion in the lineup yesterday.

Their success is attributed to the work they do, since they offer more than 20 concerts a month, something that is not tired by the energy that the public transmits to them.

“We dance and sing to children, young people, adults, older people, we are a phenomenon that we did not expect, when we modernized the songs we did not know what this success would be,” said the musician, who recalled that they already surprised those who did not believe in when they were announced to participate in the 2013 Vive Latino.

Although they had already confirmed a presentation at the National Auditorium and a tour of the United States, they consider that now it is a major challenge because they must represent Mexico in one of the most important festivals in the international arena.

“We have a very big responsibility with the country that saw us born, we must do our best to make people dance and enjoy,” he said.

The group, which at this stage has been characterized by its collaborations with different types of guests, does not rule out repeating any of its collaborations there.

And although they still have to organize times with the other guests, José Mejía would like to take Jay de la Cueva because he defined him as “the little but spicy guy who catches the audience”.

Los Ángeles Azules will be presented on Friday, April 13 and 20, at the festival led by The Weeknd, Beyoncé and Eminem.

Are you surprised?

(VIDEO) Trump Son Celebrates Birthday with Mexican-Themed Party

The Trump family seems to love everything about Mexico except for the actual people who live there.

The same person who celebrated Cinco de Mayo with a taco bowl claiming, “I love Hispanics!” also said, “They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists,” during his presidential bid. Now as President, Trump has further divided Mexico by wanting to build a $18 billion wall and ending Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), a program that protected young undocumented immigrants, many of who are from Mexico.

Recently, a cringe-worthy video surfaced online of Eric Trump’s Mexican-themed 34th birthday party, with a mariachi and sombreros included. According to NY Daily News, the second eldest son frequents the restaurant called, Guadalajara in Briarcliff Manor, New York.

The video ignited a media firestorm and many took to Twitter to comment on the hypocritical celebration.

The pictures were posted by Lynne Patton, a former party planner appointed to be the head of the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s New York and New Jersey office.

Coco showed the world one of Mexico’s most beloved celebrations, and the Latin community could not be more proud of being a part of it.

Dreamer Finds Better Life In Mexico And The Reason Why Is So Inspiring

Kevin Bueno always dreamt of going to college in the United States.

However, Bueno – who was born in Mexico, moved to the US at age four and grew up in the state of Colorado – is undocumented.

Nearly 20 years after arriving in the US, he felt his options to study there were exhausted. So he left, choosing to pursue a business degree at the University of Monterrey, in northern Mexico, instead.

“I’ve done well as a student, as a citizen. I’ve paid taxes. I’m not a criminal, and they’re trying to treat you like a criminal. So I was like, maybe it’s not for me,” Bueno told Al Jazeera.

Bueno is among the so-called Dreamers, young people who were brought to the US as children and do not hold legal status.

Under his tenure as US president, Barack Obama passed the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals scheme, better known as DACA, a programme which allowed undocumented young people to work, study and live in the country without fear of deportation.

About 800,000 people may be affected by the programme’s suspension.

Al Jazeera’s Julia Galiano, reporting from Monterrey, Mexico, said institutions in Mexico are targeting the Dreamers.

They hope that by offering them educational and professional opportunities, they will move back across the border.

The return is not easy, but for Bueno, life in Mexico has been a positive surprise so far.

“I’m honestly living better than I was in the [US] now, and I see more opportunity,” he said.

This Latina Reveals Why She Didn’t Wear Black to the Golden Globes

Article written by Daniela Galvez

The 2018 Golden Globes were a sea of black. Hollywood’s powerful women decided to wear all-black ensembles in support of the Time’s Up movement, an anti-harassment initiative.

And while celebs such as America Ferrera and Penelope Cruz opted for monochromatic gowns, one Latina did not. Blanca Blanco was one of the few people who did not commit to wearing black at the award show. Of course, her brightly colored cut-out dress immediately turned heads on the red carpet and many began to criticize the actress on her fashion choice.

But despite not wearing black, the 36-year-old admits she stands in solidarity with the Hollywood initiative to fight sexual harassment within the entertainment industry and more.

“I love red,” the actress told Fox News. “Wearing red does not mean I am against the movement. I applaud and stand by the courageous actresses that continue to break the cycle of abuse through their actions and fashion style choices. It is one of many factors leading women to a safer place because of their status. I am excited about the #TimesUp movement; true change is long overdue.”

Following the backlash, the actress also took to social media to remind everyone that the #TimesUp movement is more important than a simple fashion choice. “The issue is bigger than my dress color #TIMESUP,” Blanco tweeted.

This Is What the “Most Beautiful Girl in Mexico” Looks Like Today

Article written by Araceli Cruz

We love the work of photographer Diego Huerta. We’ve told you about the amazing images he takes of Mexico, reminding people that this country is beautiful in so many ways.

In 2016, he posted an image of the “most beautiful” girl in Mexico. Her name is Adriana and he said this about her: “In my journey through South Mexico, in a town locate in the middle of the Chiapas’ mountains I found the most brilliant eyes that I have ever seen. The beauty of this girl was similar to the panoramic views I was able to appreciate every time I turned around. She’s deaf, the way to communicate with her was by signs. It is no mystery that the beauty of the true Mexican woman is way above all beauty contests.”

As a photographer, Huerta has captured the most stunning images of Mexico, but this picture of Adriana captured the attention of the world.

Her eyes is what stunned most people. They’re illuminating and so wise. Her image, in particular, her eyes reminded people of another famous image.

In 1984, journalist Steve McCurry captured an image titled “Afghan Girl” and it’s truly iconic.

Photographer Diego Huerta didn’t lose sight of the Mexican girl that he captured so long ago. He updated his followers on what the most beautiful girl in Mexico looks like today. And naturally she is still as stunning as ever.

Walter Mercado’s Guide to Saying Adios to 2017 and Hello to 2018, According to Your Astrological Sign

Article written by Araceli Cruz

Walter Mercado — Latin America’s favorite astrologist — wants you to have a prosperous new year. The only way to do that is to ring in 2018 the Walter way, which, of course, is the right way because Walter knows best. While you’re probably already set on doing your whimsical Latino New Year’s Eve traditions, here’s what you should include in the mix. According to Walter, you should also include the following rituals to get 2018 going the right way.

Here’s his guide, according to the Miami Herald.

ARIES (March 21 – April 19)

“For this year’s end, dress in red, which is your lucky color. You must burn a piece of paper with the list of all the negative things that happened during 2017. For prosperity, put some coins on a small red dish by the entrance to your home. For love, make a small altar with two red apples, decorated with cloves and sprinkled with cinnamon. You should keep the altar during the first week of the new year. For good health, never forget to carry some jade and a carnelian stone. Your bath on New Year’s Eve should use honey, basil and your favorite perfume.”

TAURUS (April 20 – May 20)

“It’s very important that you drop four copper coins at a crossroad as you beseech the spiritual forces of the universe to open for you all of the paths that lead to success and good health. For love, burn some rose incense and pray to Our Lady of Charity in El Cobre or Ochún to enjoy a stable and happy relationship. To ring in the new year, take a bath with mint leaves, honey, cinnamon and your favorite perfume. Dress in green and carry with you an emerald or some jade and something made of copper, which is your lucky metal.”

GEMINI (May 21 – June 20)

“For the year’s end, wear yellow or gold, which is your color for luck and attracting money. Burn a lot of incense to drive out all the negativity of 2017, and make sure you have bells at home to ring them at year’s end. For love, sweeten your home with a plate of fruit dedicated to God and deities like Ganesh, Elegua and San Antonio de Padua. Carry a citrine stone as an amulet for good health. Your last bath of the year should include seven different colognes and yellow rose petals.”

CANCER (June 21 – July 22)

“Wear white to attract to yourself everything that is positive, and carry something black to bury everything that was negative in the past. For love, you must also wear silver jewelry, perhaps in the shape of a half moon because the moon is your regent. Place a transparent vase with water in the middle of your home and welcome 2018 with a Moonstone, which will bring you much wealth. Decorate your home with white flowers, lilies or roses. Your bath at the end of the year must include honey, cider, parsley and basil to bring you good health.”

LEO (July 23 – Aug. 22)

“Orange is your lucky color, so you must wear it to usher in the new year. For good health, light an orange candle and perfume your home with sandalwood incense. Put sunflowers and fruit, lots of fruit, around your home. Don’t forget to carry some jewelry in gold, which is the metal of all Leos. For love, tie two sticks of cinnamon with a red ribbon and place it at the entrance to your room or your home so that peace and love can rule over your life.”

VIRGO (Aug. 23 – Sept. 22)

“Dress in white or cream, and have a lot of fun. For health, buy a card or medal with the image of the Virgin of Mercy, who is very powerful and is linked to Virgo’s symbol. For prosperity, make sure you have three small sprigs of wheat, which are symbols of abundance in all things. To attract a new love or keep the one you have, take a bath in a lot of water, adding honey, cinnamon and seven of your favorite perfumes. Get a rose colored quartz, which is your luck stone, and some rose incense to accompany you on New Year’s Eve.”

LIBRA (Sept. 23 – Oct. 22)

“Start by welcoming the new year with new clothes, preferably pink, or you can carry a piece of rose colored quartz or an Opal. Venus, the planet of love, is your regent, so on the last night of the year surround yourself with pink and yellow roses for love and good luck. Offer a small cake to Our Lady of Charity of El Cobre to sweeten the new year and make sure there will be no shortage of love, good health or money in your life. Promise yourself to change the negatives into positives. Your last bath of the year must have roses, rose petals, mint, ground cinnamon and fern leaves.”

SCORPIO (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21)

“Visit a church or other place of spiritual devotion before the year is over, and bring an offering like flowers or candles. To say goodbye to 2017, you must have one red and one white candle at home so that peace and harmony will reign over your life. Dress in black and combine it with white. For love, take a bath with red carnations and add a few drops of red wine, some guava leaves, honey and cinnamon. For good luck and health, carry an obsidian or topaz stone, which are your lucky stones, and wrap yourself in the magic of saying goodbye to one year and welcoming everything new that is about to happen in your life.”

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21)

“It is imperative that you greet the new year dressed in blue and red. To make sure you don’t have a shortage of love, keep a basket of red apples at home, which will work like a magnet to attract positive energy. Carry your good luck stone, which is turquoise, and keep the figure of a unicorn at home. Your cleansing bath for the end of the year must include fresh basil, sage, mint and other medicinal plants. Add a couple of drops of your favorite perfume and turn yourself into a magnet for positive energy.”

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19)

“On the last day of the year, light a white candle to your favorite saint and pray for all of mankind, your favorite people and yourself. Dress in bronze or brown and carry something red. Clean your home with a dry coconut, rolling it all over the house with your feet and pushing it toward the outside until it crosses the entrance. Then break the coconut so that everything negative in your life goes far away. For good health, luck and love, take a bath with coconut water, river water and sea water as well as perfume. Keep an Easter flower, the flower of your zodiac sign, at home and give yourself an onyx or garnet stone for prosperity.”

When they tell me to not over dress #mood #waltermercado #legendary

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18)

“Say goodbye to the year by burning sandalwood incense and decorating your home with fruit and natural flowers as symbols of abundance and prosperity. Your last bath of the year should use natural flowers, almond oil, perfume, cinnamon and honey. Amethysts are the stones of your sign and will help you attract true love and free you from all past negatives. Dress in something violet, combined with something silvery. Have fun, dance, sing, smile and don’t forget to eat 12 grapes at the stroke of midnight.”

PISCES (Feb. 19 – March 20)

“You will greet 2018 with new hope and a strong desire to succeed and to turn your dreams into reality. Wear something light blue or lilac, which are the colors that represent spirituality. On New Year’s Eve, burn Patchouli incense and light pink, white and light blue candles. For good luck, health and love, carry something from the sea, like a pearl, coral or a shell. Your last bath of the year should use sea or salted water, rose petals, honey, coconut oil, champagne and a combination of your favorite perfumes.”

People Are Saying Cardi B Sister Looks Like Selena Quintannila`s Twin And the Resemblance Is Striking

First of all, who is Cardi B sister?
Over the last couple of months, it’s become impossible to turn on the radio without hearing “Bodak Yellow” at least once, so it’s safe to say that the woman behind the song is a success. We know who Cardi B is, but what about her family? Who is Cardi B’s sister? Now that this rapper is sitting at the top of the charts, it’s a good time to get to know one of the most important people in her life a little better.

If Hennessy looks familiar to you, there’s a clear reason for that. She appeared on Love & Hip Hop: New York during Seasons 6 and 7, while her sister was starring on the show, so, if that’s where you fell in love with Cardi, there’s a good chance that’s where you recognize her 21-year-old sister from. Or, you know, you might be one of her 1.4 million Instagram followers, because as famous as her older sister is quickly becoming, she’s gaining her own fame, too.

And if you follow Cardi on social media, there’s a good chance you’re familiar with Hennessy from her accounts, because they post about each other all the time and seem to be really close. In fact, Cardi got her stage name because her nickname used to be Bacardi to go with her sister’s alcohol-themed name, which makes for a pretty cute backstory.

According to what she said in an interview with BET from September, it sounds like Hennessy has big plans for her future. These days, she’s hosting a lot of club events, putting all that Insta fame to work, and when she’s not doing that, she’s also working toward becoming a fashion designer, hoping that one day she can design clothes worn at big Hollywood events. She said:

“Growing up, I wanted to be a fashion designer, which I’m still in school for. Like that’s what I want to be: a fashion designer. My dream customer is every celebrity that’s on the red carpet. Everybody at the Met Gala and on top of that, just everybody and anybody. I would dress everybody.”

Now, People on instagram are claiming that Cardi B Sister Henassy Looks Like Selena Quintannila`s twin. Whats your opinion?
